Happy Halloween! | Makeup Idea

To keep the ball rolling, I decided to create another makeup look for Halloween this year (you can find last year's fawn makeup idea HERE). I'm not quite sure what it is that I've done so by all means, let your imagination run wild ;)

Products Used:

- MAC radiance primer
- MAC studio sculpt foundation in "NC20"
- NARS creamy concealer in "Vanilla"
- Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in "Translucent"
- Australis Contour Palette
- Benefit Hoola Bronzer
- NARS highlighter in "Miss Liberty"
- Lorac Pro eye primer
- Lorac Pro palette using the shades: "White", "Taupe", "Mauve", "Black", "Deep Purple"
- Maybelline "Amethyst Smokes" palette, using the #2 lid shade
- Models Prefer black kohl eyeliner on waterline
- Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner in "White"
- Kat Von D tattoo eyeliner in "Trooper"
- Maybelline gel eyeliner in "Blackest Black"
- Too Faced "Better Than Sex" mascara
- Revlon ColourBurst Matte Balm in "Shameless"

I based the look off this picture but as you can see, I made a lot of changes. Instead of green, I changed the colour to purple (and you can do the same, don't restrict your creativity) and I also didn't have any eyelash glue so I unfortunately couldn't go for a more dramatic effect which is what I was hoping for. Nevertheless, I'm happy with how it turned out and hope it gives you some inspiration!

What do you think? Would you recreate this look?

Carrot Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting | Recipe

Today I baked carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and they were so delicious that I had to share the recipe with you guys on my blog. In actual fact, the cupcakes are 100% vegan because we ran out of eggs and so I used mashed banana as a substitute (I literally googled egg substitute and mashed banana came's an oddly brilliant idea) but the cream cheese frosting is definitely not vegan.

I found the recipe on a baking blog which I will link below and I'll include the changes I made down there also. I will admit, my cupcakes don't look half as good as the pictures I was going off, especially the cream cheese frosting which was a bit of a flop but hey, I tried!

Changes made:

- Rather than using two eggs, I mashed up one large banana and used this instead.
- I added 3/4 cup of sultanas

Tip: The cupcakes are a lot nicer when left in the fridge for a few hours

Let me know if you end up baking this recipe and any suggestions on what to bake next! :)

FOTD | Lady in Red

Hey guys!

As you may have noticed, I haven't been posting much (if at all) lately. I haven't stopped blogging altogether, it's a hobby that I will continue to keep doing for as long as I still enjoy it and I still do, but sometimes I just need a break. If I'm being entirely honest, it hasn't been the best year for me and my motivation to keep this blog up comes and goes but I'm back now and that's all that matters. Yay! :)

Now that I've got that out of the way, here is an FOTD that I did a little while back. This FOTD is more Winter appropriate and I know that it's Spring now (hallelujah) but knowing Melbourne weather, we'll still get loads of cold, wintery days so I'm sure this look will still be wearable.

- MAC Studio Fix Fluid in #NC20
- NARS Creamy Concealer in 'Vanilla'
- Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 'Translucent'
- NARS 'Laguna' Bronzer

- NARS Highlighter in 'Miss Liberty'
- Anastasia Beverley Hills Dip Brow Pommade in 'Medium Brown' to fill in eyebrows
- Australis Clear Lash and Brow Gel

Drum roll....

We adopted another puppy from the RSPCA!

Meet Ivy, a 5 month old English Cocker Spaniel that was born at the RSPCA after her parents were rescued from a puppy farm.

After Oscar was all settled in to his new life (you can read up about his adoption HERE), we decided that we wanted to adopt another fury friend for him. Conveniently, there was another lot of English Cocker Spaniels going up for adoption at the RSPCA and I managed to get one before they all went (perks of being a volunteer there). Our new pup is 5 months old, meaning she is a lot younger than our 1 year old Oscar, and has been renamed from Roberta to Ivy :)

Having two dogs means twice the amount of fun but also twice the amount of work because they're both young dogs from shelters that need a lot of training and attention. I'm not going to lie, the first week of having Ivy was quite stressful but it didn't take long for me to find my own two feet and create a routine that works for everyone. It also helped that I knew how much work I was putting myself up for and so I was definitely prepared!

It's really important that you consider all aspects of owning one or more dogs before you get them to ensure you're giving them the best life possible and are able to take full care of them. For your wellbeing and for the dogs wellbeing :)

And for the part you're probably most keen to see....a few pictures of the rapidly growing and gorgeous Ivy!

FOTD Friday | Garnet

Products Used:

- MAC radiance primer
- MAC studio sculpt foundation in "NC20"
- MAC studio finish concealer in "NW15" (Under the eyes and around the nose. I lost my usual pale under eye concealer and so had to use this one. I'm not sure if it's meant for under the eyes so I had to use quite sparingly)
- MAC highlighter pen in "Radiant Rose"
- NARS translucent powder
- Benefit hoola bronzer
- MAC blush in "Pinch Me'
- Lorac Pro eyeshadow in "Nude" to highlight
- Anastasia Beverley Hills dip brow pommade in "Medium Brown" to fill in eyebrows
- Australis lash & brow clear mascara to set eyebrows
- Lorac Pro eye primer
- Maybelline gel eyeliner in "Black" (used in crease and half of the lash line and then smudged out for a super dramatic effect)
- Lorac Pro palette using the shades: "White", "Cream", "Espresso",  "Black", "Nude", "Garnet"
- Models Prefer kohl eyeliner in "Black" used on waterline and tight line
- Kat Von D tattoo liquid eyeliner in "Trooper"
- Eyelure Katy Perry false eyelashes in "Oh Honey"
- Chi Chi lipliner in "Totally Nude"
- MAC lipstick in "Please Me" (base)
- MAC lipstick in "Creme Cup" (centre)
- NYX butter gloss in "Creme Brûlée" (centre)
- Urban Decay all nighter setting spray

I'm totally in love with the shade "Garnet" from the Lorac Pro palette. This is the first time I've ever used it and can't believe it's taken me this long! I think this shade is underrated and I will definitely be wearing it more throughout Winter.

When's the last time you experimented with a new shade of eyeshadow?

Product Review - Loving Tan Bronzing Mousse in 'Ultra Dark'

I'm in love! This tanning mousse is the real deal.

After months and months of watching beauty gurus rave about this product, I finally caved and picked one up in David Jones the other day. I bought the shade ultra dark because I do love me some fake tan and to be honest, I wasn't expecting it to be all that dark. I thought it might be like most other fake tans where the dark shade isn't really that dark and I end up having to put on two wrong was I?!

This tan develops over 6 hours and then requires an initial wash to remove the top layer. I find it's best to apply before bed, leave about 30 minutes for it to dry (mind you, that's being overly cautious) and then take a shower when you wake up and you're ready to go!

- Has the same smell of a professionally done fake tan. It's not too strong and very pleasant.
- Natural olive colour.
- Cutest packaging ever.
- Doesn't seem to go patchy if looked after properly (aka. MOISTURISE & SHORT SHOWERS).
- Lasts much longer than other fake tans I've used in the past.
- A little goes a long way so it will last a longer time.
- Very affordable.
- Doesn't transfer to clothes or sheets which is a major bonus!
- Alcohol free
- Paraben free

- You really need to work fast when applying the fake tan because it dries very fast and you want to avoid streaking. If you feel like you're clumsy when applying tanner, I'd recommend going for a lighter shade or a different brand that's a bit more forgiving.

Rrp: $34.99

Are you a tanning addict too?
