Product Review - Retread by Lush

Up until a couple of weeks ago, my hair had become very dry, brittle and out of control frizzy. I wasn't taking proper care of my hair and this was really making a big impact on how I felt about myself and the way I looked! Once I finally decided enough was enough, I took a trip to my favourite cosmetic store, Lush, and asked the lady at the counter to help me choose a product to revitalise, replenish and restore the nutrients in my hair.

The lady assessed how damaged my hair was (which was a lot), had a look at the volume and thickness of my hair (which is also, a lot) and gave me the product 'Retread'; a heavy duty hair conditioner packed with protein, vitamin C and healthy oils; such as seaweed, protein, melon and jojoba oil, to cleanse and repair troubled hair. Can I just say, I will never ever look back. I've only been using this product for 2 weeks and my hair has already come back to life!

I use this conditioner in conjunction with my regular shampoo (Head & Shoulders Anti-Dandruff shampoo with soothing eucalyptus) in plentiful amounts and I leave it to soak into my hair and do it's thing for at least 15 minutes. When my hair is drying and only a little damp, I work a small amount of argan oil into the ends and lengths of my hair which leaves me with shiny, soft, healthy and luscious looking locks.

Another reason I love this hair conditioner so much, is because it has the capabilities of fully restoring the nutrients and love back into my hair once i've straightened and applied heat to it, which can often cause quite a lot of damage. I've also noticed that when I style my hair, it becomes a lot softer and shiny looking compared to before I started using this product (make sure to always use a heat protect spray before styling hair. I use Toni&Guy's heat protect spray).

Although a little on the pricey side, I would highly recommend this hair conditioner to anybody with hair that needs a little oomph. The smell of this product takes getting used to because of it's fresh ingredients, but on the whole it's not that bad.

Rrp: $23.95

Have you tried this hair conditioner? What's your favourite hair care product? I'd love some tips and tricks!

  1. what's your favourite music genre? I'm an all rounded girl but I'm currently loving a lot of Indie and Pop music.
  2. if you had to pick ONE item if you were on a desert island, what would it be? My mobile phone to contact people with... here's hoping there's reception!
  3. most worn makeup product? Ohh, that's a tough one. I suppose it'd be my boring yet necessary MAC primer because no matter what foundation is going on my face...primer is always the beginning!
  4. favourite M.A.C. product? That would 100% have to be my MAC lustre lipstick in 'Bare Again'. A makeup artist by MAC used it on my lips before one of my Year 12 formals at school and I've been obsessed with it ever since! I actually just repurchased another one a few days ago as I ran out.
  5. dog or a cat person? Dog. For sure.
  6. who is your celebrity crush? Oh boy, where do I start? I love Douglas Booth, such a babe. If I could steal someone's looks however, I'd steal Selena Gomez's or Miranda Kerr's...stunning!
  7. what camera do you use for your Blog? I'd love to say that I use my good Nikon D7000 SLR camera but if I did, I'd be lying. More often than not I find myself using my iPhone camera because I struggle to find macro on the good camera for shallow depths of field/close ups! Maybe that should become a resolution...start using my good camera for better photos.
  8. do you have a YouTube channel? LETS FOLLOW EACH OTHER I actually do have a YouTube channel but I haven't started putting beauty videos up on it yet...but I really want to! I did actually attempt to film a Lush haul the other day except my silly camera cut out after 20 minutes. Sad face. Regardless, you can check it out if you please! It does have some gymnastics and horse riding videos on it. Click HERE to find my YouTube channel.
  9. favourite TV show? Heartland; horses, drama and cute boys... what more could you want?
  10. can you drive? Ha ha, no. My friends always laugh at me for being so slack when it comes to driving so I should really get on to that! I live in the city with a heap of public transport and haven't really felt the urge to start learning but I plan on starting very soon.
  11. your favourite clothing item in your wardrobe? Currently it's a simple black, seamless singlet from Miss Shop. So cheap, so comfy, no seams, easy wash and soft material...I actually went back and bought another two in the exact same colour.

NEW QUESTIONS I ASK:
  1. When and why did you start blogging?
  2. What's your favourite beauty product?
