Fashion & Celebrity Heroine - Miley Cyrus

Every once in a while I greatly admire a particular role model and lately it's been Miley Cyrus. I find her incredibly inspirational, despite what many think of her new music and appearance. Here's why...

First but for mostly, Miley Cyrus has grown up in the limelight and so it's just expected that she's going to grow up and change...just like many of us enjoy changing our hair colour, getting piercings or tattoos etc, Miley Cyrus does the same but with millions of people judging her. Even though she has a new haircut and enjoys to twerk it out in her music videos which she's hugely criticised for, she's still remained a completely kind and down to earth character as you can tell in her interviews. I admire that.

Second of all, her fashion style is incredible. She works so hard at maintaining her figure and is able to pull off the most amazing outfits. She's one of those people that if the current phase is to grow your hair long, she'll cut it off. If everybody starts wearing one thing, she'll wear another. She knows who she is and she's not afraid to be herself.

Thirdly, her music tells a story. I mean let's be honest, if you're one of those people that enjoys to unnecessarily insult her, I bet you still find her songs catchy and relatable. She puts emotion into her music and is true to what she sings.

Overall, I find her hugely inspirational and in saying this I don't mean that I want to copy her style and everything about her, I purely mean that I admire the fact she's such a down to earth person, she's not afraid to be different and I mean look at her...she's just loving life and living it to the fullest.

And to the haters, I say it says more about you than it does her because she doesn't go around insulting her fans or other artists despite what people like to say about her. And heck, she's doing what most of us would be way too afraid to ever do.

I love Miley Cyrus's taste in fashion and I admire her hard work ethic and down to earth nature.

Who do you find inspirational and are you a fan of Miley Cyrus?

This is not a crime!

Note I've cheekily included a self portrait of me wearing fake tan and makeup in all it's glory ;) Hehe. Issy I think you've made your point clear...

Today I have the stupidest rant ever but for somer reason I felt it a necessary task in my daily agenda. Topic? Makeup and fake tan (and other body/appearance changes of the like).

I love using makeup and I love tanning myself because it makes me feel more confident and I personally like the look. Not only that but I have an obsession with trying out new products and it just generally makes me happy to experiment around, try different looks and so forth. It's not a crime! So why do people have such a big problem with it?

I'm so sick and tired of those around me (not you guys, obviously I love you guys being like-minded and all) saying things like, 'you shouldn't fake tan, it's bad for your skin' or, 'why on earth are you putting makeup on, you don't need it'...I do it because I bloody well want to! And it's certainly not to make you happy.

I also get my all time favourite question (note sarcasm), 'why do you waste so much money on makeup and beauty products?' and the answer to that question is because to me, it's not a waste. I believe that if whatever you're spending money on is making you happy and is of great use to you, then why would it be a waste? It's a totally personal thing. To me, I would be wasting my money if I went out and bought some hardware equipment because that's not what I'm interested in and what I like.

Furthermore, the same applies to everything else in life whether it be dying hair, piercing yourself and getting tattoos etc. Just because I don't personally like tattoos for myself, it's not to say I'd put someone who does to shame. I just can't understand why people feel the need to pick on other people because they've decided to be an individual and do what makes them happy. The individuals are the people I most admire.

I guess what I'm trying to say (attempting to calm myself down here) is if you love not wearing makeup because it makes you happy then continue doing that. Just like if you love wearing makeup, no matter how much of it you wear, keep doing it. Happiness and confidence is the best kind of beautiful. Those who matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter.

Note: Everybody is beautiful in their natural state and you shouldn't feel the need to change in order to impress or please somebody else. Thought I better make that point clear too hehe (Oh Issy, where are you actually going with this?).

I know so many beauty gurus have talked about this topic before but it can't hurt to bring it up again and keep bringing it up until people start to understand.

What are your thoughts and opinions on this topic? I'd love to hear them :)

H&M Arrives in Melbourne!

I'm sorry this isn't relevant to people who don't live in Melbourne or even Australia, but my excitement proves too much for me to hold back on writing this blog post...so please bear with me!

After watching YouTubers in the UK and other various places around the world go on and on about the purchases they've made at H&M, I can finally take your advice on board and have a look at the store myself...yes that's right, there's at long last an H&M in Melbourne (on Bourke St to be precise)!

Naturally as I was in the city the other day I had a visit to the store and let me tell you, it is extremely packed with customers (as you can see I'm not the only over-excicted Melbournian)! There are three huge levels in H&M and my friend and I only made it around the first as there were just far too many people crowding around, making a very difficult shopping trip. There was even a line that bent around the block to get in and another long line to reach the fitting room...I remember it being a similar scenario when Topshop came to Melbourne.

A word of advice, if you plan on going to the H&M store in Melbourne and aren't keen on spending hours pushing through crowds to look at clothes or waiting in massive queues to try clothes on, don't even bother going in the afternoon. Pick either the earliest time they open or later at night and preferably not on the weekend.

Aside from the crowds and from what I saw in my very short visit to H&M, it is exactly what people say: cheap, affordable, loads of selection (there's definitely something there for everyone) and nice designs. I thought that because everything was so cheap the quality and style of clothing would be rubbish but was pleasantly surprised as I found so many things I liked. Obviously there are a few items such as coats etc. where the fabric didn't feel so fabulous but I mean, that's to be expected at such a low price.

All in all I would highly recommend you pay a visit to this splendiferous store, it's a shopaholics dream. Cheap as chips and caters for everyone's needs. Now we just need a Primark.

Have you been to H&M  and enjoy shopping there often? What are your tips to surviving the jam packed space?

When in doubt, wear red

"Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick."
- Gwenyth Paltrow

A lot of people are very intimidated by wearing red lip colours which I think is a real shame. There are so many gorgeous red lipsticks out there and I think more people should be wearing them! I thought I'd show you my favourite way to wear a red lip, and that is with a bronze smokey eye. I love this combination because it's classy, versatile and not too tricky to achieve with a bit of practice.

It's all about choosing the right shade for you and I think that's something many people forget to do. Not every red lip will look fabulous on everybody...here's a quick guide to picking the right one.

In these pictures I am wearing the 'Brownluxe' MAC palette (my favourite pallete ever which I've almost run out of!) for the smokey eye and then 'Ruby Woo' by MAC on my lips. I would wear this on a night out or even during the daytime if I really felt like it.

I hope this gives you some inspiration and always remember, as a makeup artist once told me, pulling off a bold red lip is all about your attitude and how you wear it rather than letting it wear you!

What's your favourite way to wear a red lip?

How to: survive formals!

It has come to my attention that although I thought the days of formals and dressing up to the nines for a social ballroom event were well and truly behind me, I still have a few left in the bag (aka. apparently colleges like to throw a few formals in the mix too). Getting ready for another formal myself, it reminded me of how much fun these nights are, however I do have a few tips to make sure you don't have any last minute freak outs or stresses...and I'm speaking from experience.

1. Stay organised!

I was definitely the kid at High School (and still am) that left everything to the last minute. I'm talking 3 days before the event and I still didn't have a dress, much to my dates distress (he even offered to buy one for me ha ha).

It really does help to think ahead and start looking early because this way you'll be 100% confident and happy in what you're wearing, and you may even have time to hunt down a bargain too. It will also mean that you're not the girl left with little dress options left because your friends have already snatched up the good dresses. Whenever we had formals at school, people created a Facebook page and posted the dresses they bought on this page so that nobody else could buy the same one and go matching. Crazy I know, but it happens...there's something to be said of the saying, 'first in, best dressed'.

On that note I have a funny story: one time I found the perfect dress for formal after hours and hours of searching, only to have the shop assistant tell me I couldn't buy it because a girl from my school bought the same one yesterday. Gee, thanks.

2. Save the guilt of spending too much moola and do a few DIY's/low budget tricks!

If budget isn't a problem for you then by all means, go right ahead and buy that designer dress, but I'm sure a vast majority of you out there don't have as much leeway in the cash department and that's ok! I found that although I enjoyed treating myself to a fake tan done professionally, I didn't need to go all out to get my nails done etc. as it's all too easy to do it yourself.

A few tips I have for saving money at formals are as follows:

- Before you hit the more expensive dress shops, try shopping in a factory outlet first. I actually bought one of my formal dresses at the DFO (direct factory outlet). I found it on a sample rack (which is great considering it was the only one in existence so I couldn't possibly match my friends) from Charlie Brown and it was reduced from something ridiculous like $300 to $90. B-b-bargain!

- If you're like me and you already own a million and one nail polishes, try and do your own nails to save money for something else like a fake tan (if you're into that sort of thing). I know it's tempting to get them done but to be honest, if you're tight on money, nails aren't the most important thing. Nobody is going to see them in photos and I highly doubt anybody will notice that you've done them yourself, as long as there aren't any chips.

- Now I always got a fake tan done professionally because it's me and I fake tan all the time, but you could easily do this yourself at home. Just make sure you test out the tan before the formal as you don't want to look like an Oopma Loompa.

- Follow tip one and stay organised. The less time you have, the more tempting it is to cash out on getting other people to do your own dirty work!

- If you're confident with doing your own hair and know exactly how you like it, I would highly recommend doing it yourself. I got my hair done twice at the hair dresses and to be honest, I much preferred my hair when I did it myself...many of my friends had the same problem. I actually know a few girls that hated what the hair stylist did to their hair so much they went home and pulled it out only to do it again themselves...what a waste of time and money!

3. Makeup!

Yay, this was the most exciting part for me being the cosmetic obsessed person that I am! Makeup was the one thing that I really enjoyed splashing out on and having a proper makeup artist do it rather than myself. I would search online for different looks that I liked and screenshot pictures of them, along with a picture of my dress to show them so that they could match up my dress and my makeup (ain't nobody got time for green eyes and a bright red dress).

For my first formal I had my mum's friend do my makeup who is a makeup artist for TV shows...lucky me! I remember when she came to my house I was gobsmacked as she went to her car to grab the makeup and came back with over 3 huge suitcases. Nevertheless she did an excellent job and I was super happy with the outcome...if only I knew how on earth she did it!

For the next 2 formals I went to MAC and had them do my makeup. It cost me $90 and was fully refundable, meaning I payed $90 to get my makeup done and I also received products up to $90 afterwards. This was ultra handy because I didn't feel like I was wasting money and was also able to buy whatever lipstick they used on me so I could top it up during the night. I think they did an awesome job and I discovered a lot of products that suit my face when observing them do my makeup.

Here are pictures of the different makeup looks I got done.

Makeup and hair done by TV makeup artist #1
Makeup done by MAC and hair done by hair dresser #2
Makeup done by MAC and hair done by hair dresser #2
Makeup done by MAC and hair done by me #3
Makeup done by MAC and hair done by me #3

4. Have a great time, smile, be confident and take lots of pictures :)

I hope you enjoyed this post, it was like taking a trip down memory lane. I could literally go on for pages and pages but I'll spare you all the reading, so if you need any more advice or I didn't cover something, let me know and I'll do my best to help you!

'It's so fluffy I'm gonna die!!!'

Indeed, I did just reference my favourite line from Despicable Me. I couldn't help myself.

As Winter is creeping slowly around the corner here in Australia, I've begun my search for all things fluffy, warm and cosy to keep my fingers and toes from turning blue in the cold weather. Contrary to many, I absolutely love Winter. I very much enjoy curling up under a big doona, warm beverage and book in hand, listening to the pitter pattering of rain on my roof. Ohhh it makes my stomach flutter with excitement!

As a part of everyone's Winter wardrobe, a pair of fluffy socks is an absolute necessity (in my books anyway). I picked up these really cute blue, fluffy socks with polka dots on them at the supermarket the other day and I absolutely love them. I'm not one to wear a lot of colour but when it comes to pjs and indoor fashion...I go crazy!

Rrp: $12.90 from Snoozees Underworks (I just found them at Woolworths)

What's your favourite thing about Winter?

Peer Pressure

Spur of the moment post really, but also completely necessary and if just one person reads this and takes away some valuable advice that makes their life better...I've done my job!

As many of you well know, I'm currently living on campus at University.  Don't get me wrong, college is great fun most of the time, but their are aspects about it I don't particularly like. At college I've experienced a great deal of peer pressure to go out all the time, to drink all the time and to just be someone that I'm well, not.

How did I get myself out of this? Well, it took a lot of time and realisation that no, I don't have to listen to what other people say and if somebody can't accept things for what they are then do you really need that kind of a person in your life? I know it sounds harsh but I did a lot of thinking and I realised that this isn't just a college thing, it's something everybody goes through in life and it's just a part of growing up and learning that it takes real character and strength to stay true to who you are (aweee vom).

I always felt guilty when I missed an event or hard on myself when I felt I wasn't 'in' with particular crowds but then I thought, really Issy? It's individual character that's most important, it's doing what makes you the most happy that's important, is it really worth worrying about what other people think of you? No. It really isn't. Think about it, accept it, move on.

I knew this kind of thing would happen when I moved to college and my parents warned me about it constantly, but I actually think that there are some parts of growing up you just can't do by being told. You need to be thrown into the deep end, experience it the hard way, make a few life mistakes and then come to a realisation within yourself and LEARN from them.

Anyway, I just wanted you all to know that you're beautiful people in your own special way and never feel guilty for being just who you are. Peer pressure will not get the better of you!!!

Keep Calm & Coral On

Attention my beloved beauty gurus, I've developed a massive addiction for all things coral! It's not a well known Winter colour, but I think coral is totally wearable for Autumn and for those of you living on the other side of the hemisphere, it's the perfect colour for Spring and Summer.

Coral is such a gorgeous colour that compliments any or most skin tones, especially on the nails. I also believe that if you're wearing mostly shades such as black, grey or white, a touch of coral on the lips, around the neck, on the nails etc. breaks up the outfit very nicely and adds a little vibrance and happiness.

Here is a picture showing one of the many ways I like to wear coral...I bought this necklace from Colette for $7. You can also find a review of my favourite coral lipstick HERE.

How do you like to wear coral?

April Favourites

Hi Guys!

Another month, another favourites. This month has been an interesting one for me as I've spent much of it laying in bed sick. Sad face. I'm better now though and more ready than ever to continue achieving my goals in May!

Here are my most-loved items from April:

1. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I bought this cleansing water about a month ago and it has been an absolute life saver! I'm not a huge fan of using makeup remover wipes because I often have allergic reactions to them and I also think they're quite harmful to the skin, however it is very handy to have an easy way of removing makeup on those nights you're not up to face cleansing (*cough cough* maybe a few too many cocktails?) and this does the job wonderfully. It's very gentle on the skin, has zero odour, removes waterproof makeup and leaves your skin feeling fresh. It literally feels as though I'm wiping my face with water. Cannot recommend this product enough!

2. The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks

I'm actually only half way through this book which makes it sound a little silly that I've added it in my April favourites but I'm very much enjoying it so far and would recommend it to any of you hopeless romantics (which I am). Nicholas Sparks is my all time favourite author, all of his books are romantic, sad and happy at the same time and just wonderfully brilliant. Many of his books have been turned into movies such as The Notebook and A Walk to Remember which I'm sure many of you are already familiar with.

3. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

I have combination/oily skin, which I am often in denial about because it limits me to very few foundations that I like, and this powder is my holy grail product. It honesty does exactly what is says and that is, if you apply this over the stop of foundation/BB cream or even straight on to bare skin you are guaranteed not to look like a grease ball at any time of the day. I am past the days of cashing out on expensive powders that don't set my makeup for very long because this is by far the best powder I have come across and it is at a very reasonable price too. Love!

4. Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara

Once you try this mascara you will never go back. So many beauty gurus rave about the it and I know why. It has quite a wet consistency that is very easy to apply with the plastic spoon shaped applicator. This mascara is easy to build up with about 2-3 coats. I find myself not needing/wanting to apply false lashes when I use this mascara because a false lash effect really is achieved...time saver!

5. Neutrogena Oil Free Sensitive Skin Moisturiser

I've actually been using this moisturiser for about 4-5 months now so I thought it was about time I include it in a monthly favourites. I love this moisturiser one, because it's oil-free which is great for my current acne prone skin, two, because I have extremely sensitive skin and it doesn't cause any reactions and three, because it's very light and simple yet effectively hydrates and moisturises my skin.

6. Australis Go Longwear Semi Matte Lipstick in 'Glam'

As it is now Autumn in Australia, moving into Winter, I've begun to use darker red lipstick shades a lot more frequently as I think it's the perfect colour for the colder seasons. I'm currently loving the Australis lipstick in the shade 'Glam'; a red lipstick midway between a deep red and a vampy, dark red. It's very easy to apply for a semi-matte lipstick and is not drying on the lips at all which is a must for the colder Winter months when lips have a tendency to become dry and cracked (providing you apply a little lip balm prior to application). As this lipstick is part of the Go Longwear range, it does last for a very long time which is a winner in my books!

7. OPI Nail Polish in the shade 'I'm not really a waitress'

Much like wearing the deep red coloured lipsticks throughout Autumn and Winter, I also think it's the perfect time of year to wear red nail polish. OPI is my all time favourite brand of nail polish and this red shade has been my favourite in the month of April. It has a slight shimmer to it, is an easy application and has fantastic lasting power.

8. Arkadia Vanilla Chai Tea

Last but certainly not least, it's been all about the vanilla chai lattes for me in the month of April. I actually discovered that many of the cafes I've been ordering chai lattes from use this powder which is sold at the supermarket so I thought, why waste money on a store bought beverage when I can make it at home whenever I please?! With a sweet but slightly spicy (not chilli spices) taste and delicious aroma, this has been the perfect drink to warm me up on those cold and chilly nights.

So those are my favourites from April, what are yours?
Much love.

YouTube?

Hi Guys!

So recently I've been thinking a lot about how I can expand my blog and further my passion for all things materialistic and beauty related, and the idea of starting up a YouTube channel crossed my mind.

Now I'm aware that YouTube is such a vast and exciting network, however it's also a wee bit intimidating as such a large number of successful YouTubers are out there and well...will I make an impact? Will people like my personality? I'm sure this is just overthinking but I'd like to know what you guys think and if any of you have tips on the best way to run a YouTube channel.

That's about all I have to say but I'd really love to get any advice as I've been thinking about this for a long time and although a few anxieties are completely normal, a bit of reassurance would be wonderful!

Do any of my readers have YouTube channels? If so, please link them below as I'd love to check them out!

Chewy & Delicious Anzac Biscuit Recipe

Lest We Forget
"They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We shall remember them"

Today is ANZAC day in Australia and so I decided to bake some Anzac biscuits; biscuits that have long been associated with the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) established in World War I.

These biscuits use very basic ingredients and are super simple to make. Even the most amateur of cooks could create these...not to mention they're delicious!

I've provided step by step instructions below but please note that I had to take all the photographs myself whist baking the biscuits and so there were a few steps I couldn't capture on my camera...apologies!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1 cup of sifted, plain flower
  • 2/3 cup of desiccated coconut
  • 2/3 cup of brown sugar
  • 125g of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of golden syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of cold water
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of baking powder/bi-carb soda

Step 1:

  • Set the oven to 160 degrees/140 degrees fan forced.
  • Line a large oven tray or a few small oven trays with baking paper.
  • Mix the oats, flour, coconut and brown sugar together in a mixing bowl.

Step 2:

  • Place the butter, golden syrup and water in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir until butter is melted.

Step 3:

  • Stir in baking powder/bi-carb soda and keep stirring for another minute or so until the mixture rises a few centimetres and becomes bubbly.

Step 4:

  • Pour the butter mixture over the dry mixture and stir until combined. Now is where you can get a little messy by kneading the mixture with your fingers. Make sure to wash your hands beforehand!

Step 5:

  • Roll the mixture into teaspoon sized balls and place them on a lined baking tray. Don't worry too much about how far apart they are from each other on the tray as these biscuits don't tend to spread as they're baking.
  • Press each biscuit down slightly with a fork (I did this as they were in the oven but I'd recommend you do this beforehand).

Step 6:

  • Place the biscuits in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until very slightly golden brown.
  • NOTE: If you want them to be chewy then you must NOT let them bake over this stage!

Step 7:

  • Once you've taken your Anzac biscuits out of the oven, leave them to cool for 5 minutes before transferring them onto a cooling rack and then serving.

Step 8:

  • ENJOY!

Have you tried baking these before? If you try this recipe, I'd love to know how they went so please do leave a comment below. Much love.

Product Review - MAC Cremesheen lipstick in 'Shy Girl'

Over the Easter break I had so many exciting ideas and plans in regards to new blog posts, however I've found myself curled up in bed sick for my entire holidays and haven't been able to create them! It's well over due for another post though, so I thought I'd write up a review of a new and very much loved purchase of mine; MAC Cremesheen lipstick in the shade 'Shy Girl'.

Because MAC lipsticks are more on the pricey side, I do make sure I'm 100% sure I want to make the purchase and therefore every one I own is much to my delight. I've been searching high and low for a nude lipstick to add to my slowly but surely expanding lipstick collection that doesn't look as though I've smeared foundation over my lips. 'Shy Girl' is certainly the perfect shade for the job.

The texture of this lipstick, being part of the Cremesheen collection, is very creamy and glides easily onto the lips, leaving your lips feeling moisturised and fresh. Although being predominately beige coloured, it's got a tinge of coral in it which I really like as it gives my lips a little more life and vibrance.

The lasting power of this lipstick isn't terrible but you do need to reapply occasionally and it is so moisturising that it feels as though I'm wearing a lip balm. Because the shade is light and sheer, it's also very easy to re-apply as opposed to a red or other bold lipstick shade so I guess you could say it's a very 'easy wear'.

Keep in mind that this lipstick does have a little sparkle in it, but surprisingly doesn't come off frosty like I thought it might.

The name really says it all, 'Shy Girl' is perfect if you're looking for a 'barely there but makes your lips look better' type lipstick and would be great for a natural look or a simple lip shade to compliment heavy eye makeup.

Have you tried 'Shy Girl'? What did/do you think and if not, what's your favourite MAC lipstick?

March Favourites

Crikey, three months in to 2014 already! It seems like yesterday I was just moving in to college, feelings of nerves and excitement everywhere, and now I am completely settled in and have been living here for over a month. Anyway, my first monthly favourites that I posted in February went down quite a treat, so here I have another one; March favourites. I hope you enjoy!

1. French Connection Handbag.

For a decent amount of time I've been searching high and low for a bag that fits my new 15 inch MAC laptop. I also required it to fit notebooks and the extra crap that I normally carry around in my handbag. And of course, I wanted my new handbag to be simple so I could wear it with any outfit, but also stylish. Yes, I know I know, it's a lot to ask for in a bag but I was determined, I knew it had to be out there somewhere! Well, I was right. One week into University and I found my perfect bag, sitting on the pristine clean shelves of French Connection. It does everything I want it to, is simple, stylish and I've had many compliments on it already.

Rrp: $129.95

2. 'Retread' conditioner by Lush.

I've previously written a review HERE.

Rrp: $23.95

3. Bourjois Paris Colour Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick in '04 Peach on the Beach'.

I was actually inspired to buy this product at the beginning of the March from watching one of Zoella's YouTube videos (if you haven't seen them, click HERE). I love this lipstick because it feels as though I'm applying a non-sticky lipgloss, but is actually a very pigmented and creamy/glossy lipstick. The colour payoff is magnificent! I bought the shade 'Peach on the Beach' which is a really lovely light pinky/peachy colour (surprise surprise) and I just love the packaging as it looks like a giant crayon. It also claims to be waterproof (haven't actually tested that yet) and is meant to last for up to 10 hours or more, which is not really true, but it's lasting power is very impressive.

Rrp: $15

4. Benzac AC Acne Gel by Galderma.

Truth be told, my skin has really been suffering this month. I look back to photos of my skin last year and wonder how it can change so quickly. I've never had problem skin in the past, aside from being sensitive, but all of a sudden I've had nasty breakouts everywhere and it's driving me crazy! I decided that enough was enough and picked up a couple of products at Priceline to see if I could get rid of all the breakouts, one of being this amazing acne gel. As I was researching for the best products to cure acne before I went to Priceline, I found that most people said Benzoyl Peroxide is one of the ingredients you should look out for in products, as it is a very effective treatment. This acne gel has 5% Benzac and you simply apply it to the affected areas one to two times a day. Easy and so effective. I'm noticing massive results already.

Rrp: $19.29

5. OPI Nail Polish in 'Congeniality is my middle name'.

A deep purple/plum, slightly shimmery nail polish that is the perfect shade for Autumn, coming into Winter. I do indeed have an obsession with OPI nail polishes and just nail polish all together, and this has been my favourite of the month. I've had many compliments on this one.

Rrp: $19.95 (I bought 2 for $25 in different shades)

6. 'Cosmetic Warrior' Face Mask by Lush.

Holy mackerel, I cannot say enough good things about this face mask. This has to be my all time favourite face mask, not just in the month of March. The reason I love this face mask is because not only is it freshly made and feels very natural on the skin, it also does an amazing job of fighting breakouts (due to the garlic and tea-tree oil), deeply cleansing (due to the kaolin and fresh grapes) and softening (due to the honey and and free-range eggs) the skin using. Also, because this face mask is so fresh that it must be kept in the fridge, my skin instantly appreciates the cooling and calming effects, leaving my face looking visibly fresher and feeling smooth.

Rrp: $16.95

7. Bubblegum Lip Scrub by Lush.

In my previous monthly favourites, I mentioned how much I love the Lush lip scrubs but really disliked the smell and taste of the popcorn flavour. Well, I can safely say that the bubblegum lip scrub tastes amazing and smells delicious. My lips are left soft, clean, smooth, poutier and I always find myself licking my lips to remove the scrub rather than washing it off. This lip scrub comes in a very convenient little tub that I often carry around in my handbag. Never going back.

Rrp: $9.95

8. Sigma F50 Duo Fibre Makeup Brush.

Last but certainly not least, I thought I'd mention how much I've been loving the Sigma F50 Duo Fibre Makeup Brush. I purchased this brush online in a set called the Mr. Bunny Essential Brush Kit. I love this brush because it's so soft and light on my skin and makes blending foundation very simple, leaving a beautiful airbrushed look. This brush makes my foundation look very natural and non-cakey on my skin which I find to be a very impotent aspect in applying makeup. A definite must have.

Rrp: $23

So there are my monthly favourites. Have you tried any of these products and if so, what did you think? I'd love to know what your monthly favourites are so please leave a link below and I will check them out!
