Spring & Coral FOTD

Hey guys!

Another Spring face of the day. I'm really into red and coral lip colours at the moment so today's face is sporting just that. "Lady Danger", the lipstick that I'm wearing, is a gorgeous, vibrant orangey red and has a surprisingly creamy texture for a matte lipstick. I'd highly recommend trying it out as no matter what skin tone you have (as the lady at the MAC counter told me), it suits everyone!

As always I've listed the products used on my face and also the brand of clothes I am wearing in the pictures below. Enjoy.

Before

If you're curious as to why my face and body are a complete different shade, it's because I've fake tanned ;)

Outfit & Makeup Look Of The Night

Hey! How are you guys?

Living on college usually entails a lot of parties and nights out, last night being one of them. I love getting myself all dressed up and doing a full face of makeup and last night I was very happy with the outcome so I thought I'd share it with you!

I usually tend to stick with the same makeup when I go out, a bronze smokey eye. I used my new Too Faced Naturals eyeshadow palette and there literally is not one colour that I don't like, it's awesome! I would definitely recommend investing in one of these palettes if you're a neutral gal at heart like I am. I also have been loving my Katy Perry false eyelashes and you can find a review of them HERE.

With my outfit I kept it quite simple and comfortable. I laugh at my High School self wearing huge heels to parties and complaining about my sore feet for days after....why did I used to do that to myself? Usually when I go out now I refuse to wear any heel past an inch or two as you just can't have as much fun! As for the fluro singlet top I was little skeptical when I first bought it but absolutely adored how vibrant and eye catching it ended up looking against my tanned skin (fake tan obviously ha ha).

I've listed all my clothing items and where they are from down below, as with the makeup products I used on my face.

Makeup:

- MAC prep+prime primer
- MAC studio sculpt foundation
- Maybelline age rewind concealer
- Elizabeth Arden sheer lights illuminating pen
- MAC pressed translucent setting powder
- Benefit hoola bronzer
- MAC powder blush in the shade "Pinch Me"
- MAC highlighter in the shade "Soft and Gentle"
- MAC eyeshadow in the shade "Mystery" to fill in brows
- Australis clear brow gel
- MAC prep+prime eye primer in "Light"
- Too Faced naturals eyeshadow palette using the shades: Cashmere Bunny, Sexspresso, Chocolate Martini, Honey Pot
- theBalm schwing liquid eyeliner in the shade "Black"
- Rimmel scandaleyes eyeliner in the shade "Nude" for the waterline
- Benefit they're real mascara
- Katy Perry "Oh Honey" false lashes by Eylure
- Lanolips ointment
- MAC cremesheen lipstick in the shade "Bare Again"

- Top: Tokito
- Necklace: Top Shop

Tan:

- Bondi Sands tanning foam in "Dark" (two layers)

Scent:

- Elizabeth Arden "Red Door"

Spring Face Of The Day

Hi ya'll!

Spring, for me, is a love hate relationship. I love Spring for it's beautiful 'not too hot, not too cold' weather and clear blue skies. I hate Spring because I'm an unlucky victim of hay fever and now relate this gorgeous season to sickness...yeh no. Not cool Spring.

As I was stocking up on tissues and cold&flu tablets the other day, I also treated myself to some new makeup inspired by Spring and all the bright, pretty colours that come with it. I hope you enjoy my face of the day, I've been wearing this an awful lot lately and will continue to throughout Summer!

What's on my face:

- MAC prep+prime primer
- MAC studio sculpt foundation (using my beauty blender to blend it in)
- Maybelline age rewind concealer to cover blemishes
- Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer to highlight and conceal under the eyes
- Rimmel Stay Matte powder in #001 "Translucent"
- Benefit Hoola bronzer
- MAC powder blush in "Pinch Me"
- MAC highlighter in "Soft and Gentle"
- MAC eyeshadow in "Mystery" to fill in my brows
- MAC clear brow gel
- MAC prep+prime eye primer in the shade "Light"
- Too Faced Neautral Naturals palette using: Heaven, Nude, Cashmere Bunny and Sexspresso
- Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner in "Nude" for the water line
- theBalm Schwing liquid eyeliner in "Black"
- Daiso classic false eyelashes with a transparent band (they cost only $2.80...bargain!)
- Lanolips lip balm
- Chi Chi lip liner in "Lady in Red"
- Chi Chi creamy matte liquid lipstick in "Lady in Red"

I absolutely love the orange based red lip combined with natural, non-shimmery eyeshadow and pretty false lashes! Basic, classy and very Spring.

Are any of you hay fever sufferers?

DIY College Ball

Hi Guys!

The other night I had my College Ball and am proud to announce I did my own fake tan, makeup AND hair all by myself. I figured I'd had enough practice with doing my makeup etc. that I should save my money and use the many materialistic, beauty related things I already own. It was difficult not to cave in and book myself a few appointments but I resisted the urge and was very pleased with the outcome.

This is how it looked...

Makeup:

- MAC prep+prime primer
- MAC Studio Sculpt foundation
- Maybelline Age Rewind concealer
- Elizabeth Arden Sheer Lights Illuminating Pen in the shade "Soft" #01
- Rimmel Stay Matte powder in #001 "Translucent"
- Hoola Bronzer by Benefit
- MAC powder blush in "Pinch Me"
- MAC highlighter in "Soft and Gentle"
- MAC eyeshadow in "Mystery" to fill in eyebrows
- MAC clear brow gel
- MAC prep+prime eye primer in the shade "Light"
- Models Prefer Kohl eye pencil in "Black" on smudged out on the outer corner of the eye
- theBalm Nude'tude palette using: Sassy, Sultry, Sleek and Serious
- Models Prefer Black Kohl eye pencil in "Black" on the tight line
- Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl eye pencil  in #005 "Nude" on the waterline
- theBalm Schwing liquid eyeliner in "Black" for the cat eye
- Maybelline Volum' Express Falsies mascara in "Black"
- MAC lip liner pencil in the shade "Brick"
- MAC matte lipstick in the shade "Ruby Woo"
- Eylure Katy Perry False Lashes in "Oh Honey"
- Napoleon Perdis Makeup Setting Spray

Fake Tan:

- Bondi Sands tanning mousse in the shade "Dark" (I used two coats)

Hair:

- Toni&Guy shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair
- TRESemme keratin smooth heat protection shine spray
- GHD hair straightener

Outfit:

- Dress from Lipsy London
- Earrings from Lovisa
- Shoes from Zu

The night was fantastic and if I could do it all over again, I would. I was super happy that I didn't waste a tonne of money on getting my hair and makeup done and in the future I will continue to do everything myself. It's also a great idea because it eliminates the risk factor of hating what the hair stylist or makeup artist has done, which can result in a complete waste of money.

Note: It's a good idea to practice your hair and makeup look before the event just in case you need to make a few changes and to ensure you're 100% happy with how it looks.

Have any of you done your hair and makeup for a ball or do you prefer to get it done?

Baby Doll Makeup & Hair Look

Long time no see blogger friends!

I created this baby doll look at random because I really wanted to make use of my new, ever so cute head band from TopShop and was really proud of the outcome. You would never guess I'm 18 years old in these pictures, I look about 5! Ha ha.

Had to include my ridiculous face on the far right

Hair:

So admittedly I didn't do my hair for this look, the hairdresser did it. I did however ask her to teach me her magnificent ways because I'm hopeless at trying to style my hair.

Basically, to create this hairstyle you need some volumising and heat protectant spray, any other styling products you use is totally up to you. Once you've worked the heat protectant into your hair, simply blow dry small sections of your hair using a cylinder hair brush to brush down and curl at the ends. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this very well but never mind, I'll continue doing my best.

Last of all, take the top section of your hair, right on the top of your head, and work some volumising spray/mousse (whatever you fancy) into your roots. Then continue on blow drying and curling! Easy peasy lemon squeezey.

To finish off the baby doll look I wore this pink bow head band from TopShop.

Makeup:

As you can see I went for very simple eye makeup, focusing on the lashes and a cute winged liner. On my cheeks I used a very light, pale pink blush and matched up my lips with my cheeks by wearing a similar colour.

The foundation I used is extremely light and weightless, looking very much like my natural skin.

On my face:

- MAC Prep+Prime Primer
- Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation in "B10"
- Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in "Ivory" (for blemishes)
- Elizabeth Arden Sheer Lights Illuminating Pen in the shade "Soft" #01
- Rimmel Stay Matte powder in #001 Translucent
- Benefit Hoola Bronzer
- Illamasqua blush in "Katie"
- MAC eyeshadow in "Mystery" to fill in the brows
- MAC clear gel brow set
- MAC prep+prime primer in the shade "Light"
- theBalm Nude 'tude palette using: Sassy, Stubborn, Stand-offish, Sultry and Sleek
- Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl eye pencil in #005 "Nude" for the waterline
- Models Prefer black Kohl eyeliner for the tight line
- theBalm Schwing liquid eyeliner in "Black"
- Maybelline Volum' Express Falsies mascara
- Daiso fake lashes
- MAC matte lipstick in "Please Me'
- Revlon plumping lipgloss in the shade "Rosy Pout"

What do you think of this look? Would you wear it or is it too borderline childish?

Face of the Night - Silver Smokey Eye

Hello again!

Last night I did my makeup for a night out and was really happy with how it turned out so I thought I'd share the final look with you! It's quite similar to the Kim Kardashian inspired makeup look that I blogged about awhile ago (you can find the post HERE...the pictures are much better quality too).

To create this look I focused on smudging gel eyeliner in my crease and outer eye whilst also blending in dark brown and black eyeshadow to create that smokey effect. I then applied a very white/silvery eyeshadow to the inner section of my lid, on the brown bone and on my tear ducts. To finish off the look I did a simple winged liner, using sticky tape on my outer eye to create a perfect crisp line.

I'm really happy with this makeup look that I invented (well, not invented but just created by messing around on a boring day...that's how it always happens haha). It really makes your eyes pop and is fantastic for a night out.

Products used on my face:

- MAC prep+prime primer
- Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in "Warm Honey" mixed with Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation in "Beige" (I fake tanned and didn't have the right colour so I had to mix them)
- Maybelline Age Rewind concealer in "Medium Moyen"
- MAC eyeshadow in "Mystery" to fill in my eyebrows
- MAC clear brow gel
- MAC prep+prime eye primer in "Light"
- Maybelline eyeliner gel in "Blackest Black" to smudge in the crease
- Nude tude palette by theBalm using these colours: Sassy, Snobby, Serious, Sleek
- theBalm Schwing liquid eyeliner in "Black"
- Rimmel Stay Matte powder in "Translucent" #001
- Benefit Hoola bronzer
- MAC powder blush in "Pinch Me"
- Nude tude eyeshadow palette using the shade "Stand-offish" to highlight my cheekbones
- MAC cremesheen lipstick in the shade "Shy Girl"

What do you guys think of this look? Would you ever give it a go?

Product Review - MAC "Woodwinked" Eyeshadow

Foundation: Rimmel Match Perfection "Warm Honey
Concealer: Rimmel Wake Me Up "Ivory"
Bronzer: Benefit Hoola
Blush: MAC powder "Pinch Me"
Setting Powder: MAC translucent
Eyebrows: MAC eyeshadow "Mystery", MAC clear brow gel
Eye Primer: MAC prep+prime eye base "Light"
Eyeshadow: MAC "Woodwinked" & MAC "Brownluxe" palette using the cream colour
Eyeliner: theBalm schwing liquid eyeliner "Black"
Mascara: Maybelline the falsies "Black"
Lipstick: MAC amplified creme "Impassioned"

I've owned this eyeshadow for about a year now but disappointedly haven't really appreciated it until now. This eyeshadow is the bomb diggity and if you don't own one well...what are you doing here? Get yo groove on to the MAC store!

"Woodwinked" is a very pigmented shimmery bronze/gold eyeshadow. I discovered this when a MAC makeup artist used it on me before a formal (or ball as some of you may call it). I loved how well "Wookwinked" picked up on my brown eyes and made them pop, so to say.

The thing I love most about this eyeshadow is that it changes colour as you blend. So if you're in a rush or feeling eye lazy, you can simply apply the shadow over your lid and then blend out, finishing off with a highlighter for the brow bone and presto you're done (well apart from mascara and eyeliner)! My mum thinks I use many different shadows for my eye makeup when I use just "Woodwinked" alone but little does she know...

One last thing about this product is that I believe it looks best on tan skin. Although it still looks fab on pale skin too, I've found personally that I prefer to use this eyeshadow when my skin is a little more tanned as it just looks more seamless, each to their own though.

Even though it's pricey for just one eyeshadow shade, I'd highly recommend it to anyone. Definitely worth every cent.

Rrp: $33

Kim Kardashian Inspired Makeup Look

Whenever I feel stressed or panicked I always find myself sitting in front of my mirror, makeup sprawled out all around me, practicing different looks. I simply find a picture on google that I think looks interesting or challenging and attempt (attempt being the key word here) to imitate the look as best I can.

I found an image on google that uses mainly the technique of smudging eyeliner (I used gel eyeliner) in the crease and also in the outer corner of the eye, and to achieve the sharp and clear line on the outer corner of my eyes I did the classic sticky tape trick. I didn't actually take step by step pictures because my expectations of it being successful weren't high, however I wish I did after seeing the outcome!

I'm really happy with how this turned out. My sister said, 'it looks a lot like Kim Kardashian!' and I think she's quite right.

What's on my face:

- Loreal True Match foundation in "N2 Vanilla"
- Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in "Ivory"
- MAC transparent powder
- Benefit hoola bronzer
- MAC powder blush in "Pinch Me"
- MAC eyeshadow in "Mystery" to fill in my eyebrows
- MAC clear brow gel
- MAC prep+prime eye base in "light"
- Using my Nude 'tude palette by theBalm I used: Sassy, Snobby, Sleek and Serious
- Maybelline gel eyeliner in "Blackest Black"
- theBalm liquid black eyeliner
- Bourjois waterproof black clubbing eyeliner pencil
- Maybelline the falsies mascara in "Black"
- MAC matte lipstick in "Please Me"

What do you guys think of this look? I reckon it'd be totally wearable for a night out or even a formal event. I might also do a tutorial on YouTube if any of you are interested? Let me know :)

May Favourites

Hey guys!

Another month, another favourites. This month has been a rather slow moving one and I'm so excited for the holidays coming up! A few more assignments at Uni to get done and I'm a free person...for a little while...squeeeeeee.

1. Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

A cult favourite and actually the first Real Techniques brush I bought. I've broken the pattern of constantly using Sigma makeup brushes and I'm glad I have as this buffing brush is amazing. It's relatively cheap, dense and small in size which makes it extremely easy to work foundation into the skin. I find my foundation looks a lot more natural and seamless when using this brush and my makeup also lasts for longer...don't ask how but it does.

2. Toni&Guy Shampoo and Conditioner for Damaged Hair

I have very dry, frizzy, easily damaged hair and am constantly on the look out for products that claim to de-frizz and replenish. Aside from the conditioner "Retread" by Lush, the Toni&Guy shampoo and conditioners are the only hair washing products (that are relatively affordable) I'm thoroughly impressed with and actually make a difference to my frizzy hair situation. Not to mention they smell a-m-a-z-i-n-g!

3. Nude 'tude Eyeshadow Palette by theBalm

I've done a review on this palette HERE.

4. Treacle Moon Bath and Shower Gel in Vanilla

Basically I was in the supermarket looking for a new shower gel as I'd run out of my last one and came across this product by Treacle Moon. It's packaging is gorgeous and the perfect size as I won't run out of it in two seconds, it lathers extremely well and smells of sweet vanilla (I went on a smelling rampage of all the shower gels haha..am I the only one who does this?). I actually sat in the car smelling this all the way home because I'm a weirdo like that. But honestly, if this shower gel was edible...

5. Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in "Ivory"

I've really been loving this concealer in the month of May and have used it every time I do my makeup. It's creamy formula is very easily blendible and works great under the eyes if you're looking for a more radiant look. The shade Ivory is perfect for my natural skin tone and even more perfect for when I've tanned as it works great as a highlighter. Would highly recommend this concealer to anyone.

6. Harry Potter

I had to choose a picture from the first movie because they're all SO CUTE!

As aforementioned in my previous blog post I've gone on a little Harry Potter frenzy this month. It was sparked by a very boring evening watching YouTuber's vlogs touring the Harry Potter set and I had this sudden urge to watch every single movie in order from start to finish...and I can tell you I succeeded this ambition...in a week (yikes). Followed was that 'post-tv show/movie saga sad feeling' when there isn't any left to watch and you wish it was all real life. Or does that just happen to me?

7. Peanut Butter & Chocolate Oreos

I wish I never found these in the supermarket...I'm hooked! Honestly, if you're a peanut butter fan you will absolutely love these. Just like your normal oreo except with a half peanut butter, half chocolate cream filling. *Hashtag foodgasm*

So that's it for this month, I hope you enjoyed. Hopefully next month I'll have some more exciting things to include because I feel as though these products weren't all that thrilling.

What are your May favourites?

xx

Product Review - theBalm Nude 'tude Eyeshadow Palette

Hey guys!

It's been awhile since I've done a product review and what better review to do than this a-m-a-z-i-n-g eyeshadow palette by theBalm. My best friend gave this palette to me as a part of my 18th Birthday present and I'm already loving it (thanks Kristina)!

I find a lot of eyeshadow palettes to come in quite boring packaging, however the packaging on this one is so cute. It's also very light and compact so ideal for travelling.

A two-sided brush is provided alongside the eyeshadows which I actually haven't used but intend on doing so soon. I have enough brushes as it is, however if you're just starting out with makeup then it looks like a pretty handy and good quality brush to me.

The palette comes with 12 highly pigmented shades; 4 matte and 8 shimmery. When I first used the shade 'Sleek' I was shocked at actually how pigmented these shadows are and how creamy the texture is. I think aside from colours, this is my favourite part about them. I didn't have any trouble blending, in fact I find them much easier to blend than my many MAC eyeshadows.

Being more of a neutrals gal when it comes to eyeshadows, these shades are perfect. I love that it comes with some matte shades also as I don't always want to use shimmer. I've also found their dense texture and high pigmentation to be a very nice eyeliner on days I get a little 'eye lazy' or just want something a little more natural and subtle.

Although Nude 'tude isn't the cheapest of eyeshadows, I'd highly recommend it to anyone. It's such a cute, fun and versatile palette, the shades are simply too gorgeous to pass up...a great addition to anyone's makeup bag :)

Have you tried this palette?

xx
